Hempstead girl guide leader dies

A former Girl Guide leader and well known member of the Hempstead community has died.
Marjorie Marks, 80, of Harrow Road, passed away at the Wisdom Hospice, Rochester, on Monday .
Mrs Marks had been a leader at the First Hempstead Guide Company which had to form another group as it become so popular
Her funeral service will be held at All Saints Church, Hempstead Road, on Monday at 2.15pm followed by cremation at Medway Crematorium, Blue Bell Hill, Chatham, 3.20pm.
Her family and friends will gather at The Bell in, The Street, Bredhurst, after the cremation service.
Anyone who knew Mrs Marks, is welcome to go along to pay their respects and anyone wishing to make a donation to Girlguiding Kent West can do so thought John Weir Funeral Directors, High Street, Rainham, 01634 373111.
