Kent weather: Rain could disturb April sun spell
17:01, 20 April 2018
There could be bad news for anyone expecting a sunny weekend.
Forecasters are warning of thunderstorms which are set to disturb Kent's bright spell.
Weather assessors at Kent County Council say isolated heavy showers and thunderstorms could occur over the weekend.
The worst of the wet conditions are set to hit Saturday night and last into Sunday morning.
Conditions will be so bad there are warnings of flooding.
A spokesman for Kent County Council said in the warning note sent to officials: "Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue through Saturday night and into Sunday but should gradually clear to the east during the day with fresher conditions spreading from the west.
"Further surface water flooding impacts are possible but, again, the location of where will see the heavy showers and thunderstorms is not certain."
Next week looks fairly unsettled with showers at times and feeler fresher in the wind.
It will come days after we basked in one of the warmest April days in 70 years.
