A BOY who was badly injured in a Margate house fire in which his brother died has been taken from Guy's Hospital in London to the specialist burns unit at East Grinstead.
Levi Clifft, who was five on the day before Friday's fire at Jennifer Gardens, was found by firemen huddled underneath a bunk bed with his four-year-old brother, Taylor, who died later that morning at the Queen Mother Hospital at Margate.
Their mother, Rebecca, jumped from a first floor window and was caught by a neighbour before the fire brigade arrived. Flowers, messages of sympathy and a photograph of the dead child have been laid outside the house as neighbours and friends mourn the loss.
Staff , parents and pupils at Northdown Primary School, Cliftonville, where the brothers were both students, are “devastated” said head teacher Jackie Cox.
A fire and police investigation is being carried out into the cause of the blaze.
