Royal Baby: How many Archies were born in Kent in 2017

Yesterday the world was introduced to royal baby Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.

He was born on Monday, May 6, but his name was only revealed yesterday.

But the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are not the only couple who have opted to call their newborn son Archie.

Lots of Kent parents have opted for the name, which is German in origin and means genuine, bold and brave.

Medway mums and dads are big fans of the name. There were 20 Archies born in the Towns last year.

Though Medway is home to the most baby Archies in Kent, it was the area's 11th most popular baby name in 2017, according to the Office of National Statistics.

Coming in joint second are Ashford, Maidstone and Swale.

In each town, 11 Archies arrived last year.

The name was the 11th most popular in Maidstone, the 15th in Swale and 10th in Ashford.

Next up, perhaps inspired by the Archbishop, is Canterbury.

There were nine Archies born last year and it was the 10th most popular name in 2017.

In Thanet, Dover and Dartford there were eight Archies born .

It was the 15th most popular name in Thanet, 16th in Dartford.

However in Dover Archie was the 6th most popular name, which is the highest across all of Kent.

In Sevenoaks there were seven Archies, it is the area's 14th most popular name .

There were also seven Archies born in Tonbridge and Malling. Only five Archies were born in Gravesham and it was the area's 19th most popular baby name in 2017.

In honour of the royal baby, restaurants and attractions are offering some royal treatments to Archies.
