Hundreds apply to become elves at Bluewater's Christmas grotto

You have probably heard of the seven dwarves - but how about the
250 elves?
That's how many people applied to work as Santa's helpers at
Bluewater's Christmas grotto this year. The shopping centre had
more than 15 applicants for every position.
Craig Speller, from Sidcup, auditioned for the job after seeing
it advertised in The Stage, a newspaper for the performing arts
industry.
A professional children’s entertainer, he spends the rest of the
year working on holiday sites.
Craig said: "The best thing about working as an elf is seeing
the children’s faces light up. It is just one of the best jobs you
can ever do; it is so rewarding."
