Met Office issues weather warning for ice in Kent, with potential for rain, sleet and snow
12:00, 31 January 2018
A weather warning has been issued for ice in Kent, meaning disruption to travel is likely.
Forecasters at the Met Office say temperatures are due to plunge this evening, bringing the potential for rain, sleet and snow across the south east.
After that, skies will clear and ice is likely to form.
A spokesman for the weather service said: "Some roads and railways are likely to be affected with longer journey times by road, bus and train services.
"Some injuries from slips and falls on icy surfaces are possible."
A yellow "be prepared" warning is in place between 6pm tonight and 10am tomorrow.
Kent County Council says it will be gritting main roads.
