A vacuum cleaner thief and a fraudster are among those to face justice in Kent's magistrates' courts in the latest round-up.

Triple time shoplifter sentenced

Lucille Willett, of Fostall Road, Faversham, stole steaks worth £21 from a shop in Selling Road, Faversham.

On a different day, she stole cosmetics worth £80 from a shop in Preston Street, Faversham.

The 26-year-old then stole meat and a drink worth £85 from a shop in Forbes Road, Faversham.

Magistrates sentenced Willett to 120 days in prison, suspended for a year, and gave her a three month curfew to remain at home between 10pm and 6am daily until April 5.

She must also pay £85 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Nappy thief handed 360 hours of unpaid work

Clinton Letchford, of Hollingworth Road, Maidstone, stole self-tanning lotion worth £500 from a shop in High Street, Sheerness.

On a different day, he stole two pairs of hair straighteners and a hairdryer worth £179.88 from a supermarket in Prospect Place, Dartford.

The 33-year-old then stole baby wipes, nappies, baby milk, costume jewellery, shampoo, conditioner and clothing worth £1,055 from a supermarket in Mill Way, Sittingbourne.

Magistrates sentenced Letchford to 120 days in prison, suspended for a year, and ordered him to carry out 360 hours of unpaid work in the next next.

He must also pay £479 compensation, £100 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Shoplifter sentenced

Alexandru Damian, of Carnarvon Drive, Hayes, Middlesex, stole multiple items worth £677.70 from a supermarket in Knight Road, Strood.

Magistrates sentenced the 22-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Young driver banned

Jake Phillips, of Tramways, Chatham, attempted to drive a Fiat Punto in Luton Road, Chatham, while unfit through drink.

He also failed to stop the vehicle after a road accident where another vehicle was damaged.

Magistrates banned the 21-year-old from driving for a year and a half. He must also pay a £165 fine, £250 compensation, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Three time fraudster jailed

Homeless David Bateman falsely claimed he needed money for a hostel in Gillingham, intending to make money for himself.

On a different day, he falsely claimed he needed money for gas and electric in Gillingham, intending to make money for himself. He also assaulted a woman in Balmoral Road, Gillingham.

The 42-year-old then falsely claimed he needed money for a premature child in Balmoral Road, Gillingham, again intending to make money for himself.

Magistrates sentenced Bateman to 364 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Gravesend man behind bars

Daniel Gibbons, of York Road, stole cleaning products and chocolate worth £165 from a shop in Dene Holm Road, Gravesend.

Magistrates sentenced the 40-year-old to 30 days in prison.

Assaulter handed unpaid work

Ben Weech, of Whitehill Road, Gravesend, assaulted a woman at a pub in Wrotham Road, Gravesend.

Magistrates sentenced the 28-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for a year, and ordered him to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the next year.

He must also pay £200 compensation, £300 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Drink driver banned

Khaled Miah, of Taunton Vale, Gravesend, drove a Vauxhall Corsa in Truro Road, Gravesend, and gave a breath test of 82 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 38-year-old from driving for a year and a half. He must also pay a £120 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Nearly two year ban for drink driver

Louise Zarb, of Tooley Street, Northfleet, drove a Vauxhall Corsa between Sevenoaks and Northfleet, and gave a breath test of 98 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 46-year-old from driving for a year and eleven months and ordered her to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work in the next year.

She must also pay £350 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Vacuum cleaner thief behind bars

Daniel Thompson, of Toronto Road, Gillingham, stole a pressure washer worth £95 from a shop in High Street, Gillingham.

On another day, he stole two irons and two vacuum cleaners worth £150 from a shop in High Street, Strood.

Magistrates sentenced the 45-year-old to 160 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Violent man sentenced

Abie Ianson, of Lunsford Lane, Larkfield, stole alcoholic drinks worth £8.12, assaulted a man and damaged the man’s t-shirt worth £50 at a supermarket in New Hythe Lane, Larkfield.

He also assaulted two police officers and used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards them.

Magistrates sentenced the 20-year-old to 140 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay £200 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Headphone shoplifter in prison

Patrick Wright, of Brickfields, Pembury, stole two pairs of headphones worth £39.98 from a shop in Calverley Road, Tunbridge Wells.

He then failed to turn up to court without a reasonable excuse.

Magistrates sentenced the 25-year-old to a fortnight in prison. He must also pay a £50 fine.

More than double the limit drink driver banned

Kurt Lambert, of Cedar Drive, Maidstone, drove a Ford Focus in Cedar Drive, and gave a breath test of 89 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 26-year-old from driving for a year and ten months. He must also pay a £120 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Nearly two years off the road for one drink driver

Lloyd Gallagher, of Powder Mill Lane, Tunbridge Wells, drove a BMW in Powder Mill Lane, and gave a breath test of 87 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned 33-year-old from driving for a year and ten months. He must also pay a £660 fine, £85 costs and a £66 victim surcharge.

Richard Maltz, of Smarts Hill, Tonbridge, drove a Volkswagen Beetle in Smarts Hill, and gave a breath test of 88 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Sevenoaks man banned

Alexander Phillips, of White Hart Wood, drove a Peugeot 107 in Rectory Lane, Brasted, and gave a breath test of 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Driving offender banned for a year

Barry Jones, of Godden Road, Snodland, drove a Toyota Rav 4 in Constitution Hill, Snodland, without care and attention. He also failed to stop the vehicle after a road accident where another person was injured.

Magistrates sentenced the 70-year-old to 60 days in prison, suspended for a year and banned him from driving for a year. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Three year ban for drink driver

Martin Cizmar, of Queens Road, Maidstone, drove a Peugeot 206 in Westree Court, Maidstone, and gave a breath test of 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 31-year-old from driving for three years. He must also pay a £150 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Maidstone woman banned for drink driving

Lisa Powley, of London Road, Maidstone, drove a Ford StreetKa in Upper Stone Street, Maidstone, and gave a breath test of 83 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 30-year-old from driving for a year and a half. She must also pay a £750 fine, £85 costs and a £75 victim surcharge.

Serial shoplifter in prison

Homeless Steven Bull stole clothing worth £90 from a shop in Biggin Street, Dover.

On a different day, he stole an electric razor worth £299.99 from another shop in Biggin Street, Dover.

He also stole two bottles of wine worth £14 from a supermarket in Charlton Green, Dover and meat worth £18 from the same supermarket on a different day.

Magistrates sentenced the 41-year-old to 236 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.

Sittingbourne man handed driving ban

Wayne Willett, of Deerton Street, Sittingbourne, failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in Canterbury.

Magistrates banned the 45-year-old from driving for a year and ten months. He must also pay a £180 fine, £250 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Chocolate thief in jail

Jaroslav Keller, of Dalby Square, Margate, stole boxes of chocolate worth £78 from a shop in High Street, Margate.

The 25-year-old also stole an electric toothbrush worth £80 from a supermarket in Margate Road, Broadstairs.

Magistrates sentenced Keller to 88 days in prison. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Two year ban for Dover man

Kamil Zdanski, of Beaufoy Terrace, drove a Volvo V40 in Beaufoy Terrace, without a licence, with no insurance and gave a breath test of 93 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

He also had a quantity of cannabis on him.

Magistrates banned the 28-year-old from driving for two years and ordered him to carry out 160 hours of unpaid work in the next year. He must also pay a £445 fine, £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Dangerous driver banned for two years

John Lockett, of Molloy Road, Ashford, drove a Vauxhall Antara in Ashford Road, Ashford, without care and attention and with no insurance.

He gave a breath test of 110 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned the 37-year-old from driving for two years. He must also pay a £220 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Folkestone man handed driving ban

Paul Jones, of Richmond Street, failed to provide a specimen of breath for analysis in Folkestone.

Magistrates banned the 38-year-old from driving for a year and a half. He must also pay a £215 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Benjamin Brockwell, of Riverbank Way, Ashford, drove a Volkswagen Golf in Christchurch Road, Ashford, and gave a breath test of 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

Magistrates banned 22-year-old from driving for a year and eight months. He must also pay a £750 fine, £85 costs and a £75 victim surcharge.

Shoplifter sentenced

Jamie Birch, of Rendezvous Street, Folkestone, stole hair straighteners, deodorant and an electric toothbrush worth £69 from a shop in Sandgate Road, Folkestone.

Magistrates sentenced the 38-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay £69 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Four time shoplifter sentenced

Luke Neale, of Victoria Grove, Folkestone, stole numerous items worth a total of £606.18 across four different dates from a shop in Sandgate Road, Folkestone.

Magistrates sentenced the 34-year-old to 120 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay £588 compensation.

270 hours of unpaid work for 64-year-old woman

Sally Warburton, of Folkestone Road, Dover, assaulted a man and damaged his iPhone worth £120 in Folkestone Road. She also had a Samurai sword in her possession.

Magistrates sentenced the 64-year-old to 84 days in prison, suspended for a year, and ordered her to carry out 270 hours of unpaid work in the next year. She must also pay £120 compensation, £135 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Assaulter from Ramsgate sentenced

Luke Twyman, of Lancaster Close, assaulted a man and used racially aggravated, threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour at a shop in Allenby Road, Ramsgate.

Magistrates sentenced the 26-year-old to 56 days in prison, suspended for a year. He must also pay a £150 fine, £80 compensation and £85 costs.

Gift set thief in prison

Scott Garrett, of Harold Road, Margate, stole gift sets worth £88 and gift sets worth £100 from a shop in High Street, Margate, on two different occasions.

Magistrates sentenced the 29-year-old to 160 days in prison. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
