Kent fell silent to show respect to those who died fighting for their country.

People across the county gathered round war memorials at 11am for this year's Remembrance Services, many of which had to be called off in their physical form last year due to lockdown restrictions.

In London, Prince Charles laid a wreath at the Cenotaph on the Queen's behalf after she sprained her back.

Here is how Kent's towns marked the occasion.

Folkestone and Hythe

The town held a service and parade, starting at 10.40am at the war Memorial at the top of the Road of Remembrance

Maidstone

Arranged by Maidstone Council in the High Street and The Broadway, an hour long service was held and wreaths were laid at the foot of their memorial statue.

Starting at 10.30am the event saw those in attendance pay their respects to those who fought in battle.
