A lot of my family may have links to Leeds but there is no question who I want to win the league this season – Charlton!
A few people have said to me that it would be great for me if Charlton and Leeds were both promoted but all I care about is Charlton.
I will always keep an eye out for Leeds’ scores and playing at Elland Road earlier this season was one of the highlights of my career so far, but Charlton come first and nothing else matters.
Obviously, our main aim this season is to get promotion but I don’t see any reason why we can’t catch Leeds.
You should always set targets as high as possible, as long as they are realistic and we all believe we can win League 1.
Leeds have a two-point lead and a game in hand but there is still a long way to go.
We had a chat with the manager straight after Saturday’s win against Stockport after we found out some of the other results, such as Leeds and Norwich City dropping points. He made it clear we should be striving to be top of the table.
Everyone is playing well at the moment, so we want games to come thick and fast.
Fortunately, that’s what happens over Christmas, so hopefully we can pick up a good number of points to further close the gap on Leeds.
Last weekend seems a long time ago now and I’m sure everyone will be talking about the match against Millwall.
I’m told it’s been a long time since we played them and I’m looking forward to it. Millwall are filling their end and with our fans behind us, it’ll be an excellent atmosphere.
It’s going to be a massive game. It’s a local derby and the fans are going to be behind us the whole way.
We haven’t been beaten at home since March and
that’s a record we’re proud
of.
Another win would set us up perfectly for the festive fixtures.
