Several packages believed to be full of Class-A drugs have washed up on the Kent coast, prompting a National Crime Agency probe.
The agency says the suspected hauls were found at several spots across the county’s shoreline and sent to forensic teams for analysis.
One package is believed to have been discovered at the military training ground Lydd Ranges.
A National Crime Agency spokeswoman said: “We have begun an investigation following the recovery of a number of packages which are believed to contain class-A drugs at several locations along the Kent coast.
"The packages are currently subject to forensic tests.
"Our investigation is being supported by Kent Police, Border Force and the Coastguard.
“Anyone with information that could be relevant should report it to police by contacting 101.”
The exact locations in which the suspected drugs were found is not yet known.
In 2021, almost a tonne of cocaine, valued at £80 million, washed up just outside Kent in East Sussex.
The illegal substances were found wrapped in plastic and attached to lifejackets in Hastings.
