Kevin Parrish declared himself satisfied with a win and a defeat from Invicta Dynamos’ crunch clashes with their ENIHL Division 1 South title rivals over the weekend.

The Mos beat third-placed Chelmsford Chieftains for the second time this season at Gillingham Ice Bowl on Sunday night with in-form Nolan Boike continuing his fine form in the 8-5 win.

Andy Smith and Boike put them 2-0 ahead only for the visitors to pull level by the end of the first period.

Boike added two more and Mark Williams and Eliot Andrews made it 6-2 by the end of the second.

Andrews made it 7-2 and despite the Essex side scoring three times to reduce the deficit, Smith completed the scoring late on as the Mos went nine points clear of Chelmsford.

The previous evening Invicta had lost just their second game of the season when they slipped to a 6-3 defeat at the Cardiff Devils – who moved seven points behind the Mos with a game in hand.

Coach Parrish said: "Cardiff is a difficult place to play at the best of times but at New Year with a five-hour coach journey behind you, it is even more difficult. But we have no excuses, we didn’t play well."

Mos begin a run of four consecutive away games with a trip to Oxford City Stars on Sunday, although they could be without forwards Peter Vaisanaen and Karl Lennon who suffered shoulder injuries on Sunday.
