Jobless toll across Kent and Medway falls by 1,500

Unemployment across the county has tumbled by more than 1,500 people.
The number of people claiming Jobseekers' Allowance in Medway and the rest of Kent fell by 1,556 last month, according to the latest figures from the Office for National Statistics.
The claimant count dropped 209 in Medway to 6,185 and by 1,347 to 25,684 in the rest of Kent.
Every Kent district saw a fall in the number of jobless, with treble-digit dips in seven out of 12 areas.
Nationally, the number of people out of work in the three months to February stood at 2.51million, down 57,000 and an unemployment rate of 7.8%.
