A keen-nosed officer has proved it isn't just police dogs who can sniff out illegal drugs.
Riding a motorbike along the M20 today, they got a whiff of cannabis coming from a van up ahead.
Trusting their nose, the officer pulled over the vehicle.
The driver failed a roadside test and was arrested.
The van has been seized and taken off the road.
Kent Police RPU tweeted: "Not only our 4 legged colleagues have a good sense of smell. The benefits of riding a police bike."
A police spokeswoman said the officer was following the vehicle near junction 7 of the M20 near Maidstone at around 11am on Monday.
"Despite being on a motorcycle, he could smell the pungent odour of cannabis which led him to stop the vehicle. The driver was given a roadside drug test which he failed," she said.
The man, who is in his 30s, was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs and released under investigation while officers await toxicology results.
