Kent football programme wiped out
14:12, 11 February 2012
Sub-zero temperatures overnight on Friday wiped out the whole of Saturday’s Kent football programme.
Gillingham’s League 2 game at Burton was an early morning casualty as the pitch froze underneath the protective covers at the Pirelli Stadium.
Charlton’s League 1 match at Chesterfield went after the temperature in north Derbyshire dropped to minus 10 degrees, while Ebbsfleet’s Blue Square Bet Premier home against Alfreton also failed to survive.
All games in Blue Square Bet South, the Ryman League and Kent League involving sides from the county were postponed.
