Hopes for an Indian summer are being dampened, as a weather warning is issued for heavy rain.
Kent is getting a soaking, with up to 40mm of rain expected to fall in some places over several hours.
The alert is in place from noon until 10pm, with the downpours expected to ease by late evening.
A Met Office spokesman said: "The public should be aware of the risk of localised flooding and possible minor disruption to transport."
