Jacqueline Gold, the Kent-based boss of Ann Summers, is the 25th wealthiest woman in Britain, according to the latest list of richest people.

The Sunday Times Rich List reckons Gold, who lives near Westerham, and father David, the chairman of struggling West Ham United, are worth £340m between them - but that is £20m lower than last year and at 232, they have slipped 46 places since 2010 when they were ranked 186th.

Folkestone-based Roger De Haan and his brother Peter have dropped 11 places from 76th in 2010 to joint 87th, but their fortune is still estimated at £800m.

Roger, 62, sold Saga Group, the travel and financial services group for the over-50s, for £1.35bn in 2004.

He has invested substantial sums in regenerating his home town through art and creative businesses.

Peter Cullum, from Sevenoaks and founder of the Towergate insurance group, based in Maidstone, has risen 10 places to 178th, with wealth believed to be around £450m.

Andrew Goodesell, Folkestone-based chief executive of Acromas, the company that owns Saga and the AA, is at 527 (£133m).

Guy Hands, who heads private equity group Terra Firma, and his wife Julia own Hand-Picked Hotels, mostly in Kent.

They have slipped from 653rd to 703rd, although their wealth is still worth £100m.

Rolling Stone Sir Mick Jagger, who grew up in Dartford, has slipped from 338th to 364th, although his estimated wealth remains at £190m.

Steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal tops the list with £17.5bn., while Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is third with £10.3bn. The Queen has edged up 12 places to 257 with £300m

List compiler Philip Beresford said: "Britain's super-rich are making light of the age of austerity, achieving an 18 per cent rise in their collective wealth over the past year.

"Together, the 1,000 multi-millionaires are £60.2bn better off than they were in 2010."
