Nominations have been flowing in thick and fast for this year's Children's Awards and there are now just days left to get your entry in.

After a flurry of entries in the last few days organisers of the event have taken the decision to delay the closing date by just a few more days to scoop up as many final submissions as possible.

No child should have to face illness or disability while growing up but for those overcoming significant challenges we hope that the Children's Awards shines a light on their amazing courage and determination.

While the charities, families and fundraisers who support them can also be recognised too thanks to the event, organised by estate agent Wards, which will culminate in the autumn with a glittering awards ceremony presented by GMB's Charlotte Hawkins.

With Jubilee celebrations and half term fast becoming a distant memory we're hoping that anyone who knows a child of courage could spend five minutes this week telling us about them.

You don't need to be related to the child in question to nominate them. While you could be a family member - you might also be a friend, neighbour, teacher or sports coach.

The same applies to categories looking for nominations for families, charities or fundraisers - if you've crossed paths with someone or a service that deserves wider recognition we just need you to tell us about them.

And that is the easy part - because nominating is quick and simple and can be done online here.

You have until Monday, June 20 to do so!
