From drink-drivers to shoplifters, these are the latest criminals to face justice in Kent's magistrates courts.

Driver more than twice the limit

Petru Christian Cioplea, of Hartlake Road, Tonbridge, drove a Ford Mondeo in Cemetery Lane, Hadlow, and gave a breath test of 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 30-year-old from driving for 20 months. He must also pay a £300 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Man who failed to stop for officers handed suspended sentence

Andrew James Davies, of Ash Road, Sevenoaks, drove a Land Rover Freelander in London Road, Sevenoaks, while disqualified and with no insurance.

He also failed to stop the vehicle when required to do so by a police officer and gave a breath test of 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates sentenced the 50-year-old to four months in prison, suspended for 24 months, banned him from driving for 96 months and gave him a three-month curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 6am daily. The curfew runs until 28 November 2017. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Folkestone woman took clothes

Zeneta Balogova, of Watkin Road, Folkestone, stole clothing from a shop in Sturry Road, Canterbury.

Magistrates sentenced the 38-year-old to 84 days in prison, suspended for 18 months. She must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Driver banned for being over drink limit and not having insurance

Keith Alan Ronald Willis, of Clements Road, Ramsgate, drove a Ford KA in Manston Road, Ramsgate, with no insurance and gave a breath test of 68 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 42-year-old from driving for 18 months. He must also pay a £596 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Car taker who crashed vehicle banned

Jack Fuggle, of Bushy Royds, Ashford, took a Vauxhall Astra without the owner’s consent and drove it in Bank Street, Ashford, with no insurance.

He had an accident where damage was caused to another vehicle and gave a breath test of 78 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates sentenced the 26-year-old to three months in prison, suspended for one year, and banned him from driving for 18 months and ordered him to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Curfew, ban and community service for Ashford driver

Dax Hobbs Goncalves, of Main Road, Ashford, drove a Volkswagen Golf in Vicarage Lane, Elham, and gave a breath test of 40 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 46-year-old from driving for three years, ordered him to carry out 120 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months and gave him an eight-week curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 6am. The curfew runs until 24 October 2017. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Dover woman banned from driving

Roxann George, of Barfrestone Road, Dover, drove a Seat Leon in Drainless Road, Dover, and gave a breath test of 72 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates banned the 23-year-old from driving for 18 months. She must also pay a £184 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Thanet resident made threatening calls

Toni Leanne Nicholson, of Athelstan Road, Margate, made threatening phone calls to a woman in Albert Road, Broadstairs, causing her to fear violence.

Magistrates sentenced the 25-year-old to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 12 months, and gave her an eight-week curfew to remain at home between 8pm and 6am daily. The curfew runs until 25 October 2017. She must also pay £200 compensation and £85 costs.

Motorist ordered to hand over license and pay fine

Jordan Stanford, of Old Mill Cottage, Ramsgate, drove a Vauxhall Astra in Dadson Way, Ramsgate, and gave a blood test of 178 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes.

Magistrates banned the 28-year-old from driving for 18 months. He must also pay a £150 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Woman avoids jail

Lisa Smith, of Lister Road, Margate, stole Euros worth £300 and a phone worth £60 from an address in Park Place, Margate.

She also failed to surrender to bail at Thanet Magistrates’ Court without reasonable excuse.

Magistrates sentenced the 48-year-old to 180 days in prison, suspended for two years. She must also pay £560 compensation.

Chatham man stole bike and then damaged car

Nathan James Sutton, of Shipwright’s Avenue, Chatham, stole a bike worth £1,200 from a vehicle in Pheasant Road, Chatham.

He also caused damage worth £75 to the rear window of the car.

Magistrates sentenced the 38-year-old to 60 days in prison. Because the offences were committed during the operational period of a suspended sentence, the overall length of his sentence is 150 days. He must also pay £75 compensation.

Woman had cocaine

Ruth Hannah Cooley, of Shackleton Close, Chatham, had a quantity of cocaine in her possession in Shackleton Close.

She also permitted her address to be used for the supply or attempted supply of cannabis.

Magistrates sentenced the 35-year-old to 90 days in prison, suspended for 12 months. She must also pay £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Gravesend resident had knives

Simon John Middleton, of St Benedict’s Avenue, Gravesend, had three kitchen knives and a folding pocket knife in Gravesend.

Magistrates ordered the 43-year-old to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He must also pay £85 costs and an £85 victim surcharge.

Teen assaulted men in Rochester club

Louie Atkins, of Breach Lane, Sittingbourne, used unlawful violence and assaulted two men at a social club in Symonds Road, Rochester, causing one of them actual bodily harm.

Magistrates sentenced the 19-year-old to 180 days in prison, suspended for 12 months. He must also pay £300 compensation, £85 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Curfew and suspended sentence for vehicle vandal

Mark Ryan Hodges, of Leonard Avenue, Swanscombe, caused damage worth £3,500 to a vehicle in Sandpiper Close, Greenhithe. He also had a metal pole in his possession.

Magistrates sentenced the 25-year-old to 42 days in prison, suspended for 12 month, and gave him a 12-week curfew to remain at home between 7pm and 7am daily. The curfew runs until 20 November 2017. He must also pay £500 compensation, £620 costs and a £115 victim surcharge.

Astra driver got behind the wheel while disqualified

Daniel Edward Baldock, of Ordnance Street, Chatham, drove a Vauxhall Astra on the A2, Sittingbourne, while disqualified. He also made off without paying for petrol worth £20 from a service station in Key Street, Sittingbourne, and used threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour towards a woman there.

Magistrates sentenced the 30-year-old to 12 weeks in prison, suspended for 24 months, and banned him from driving for 18 months. He must also pay £70 compensation.

Maidstone resident was over the limit

Alfie Declan Puxley, of Woodcut, Maidstone, drove a Peugeot 307 on the A228, Halling, and gave a breath test of 84 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes. He also failed to stop the vehicle when required to do so by a police officer.

Magistrates banned the 25-year-old from driving for 40 months. He must also pay a £416 fine, £85 costs and a £30 victim surcharge.

Man up for guilty of driving offences

Raymond McGinty, of Oak Road, Westerham, drove a Renault Scenic in Wrotham Road, Gravesend, and while disqualified and with no insurance. He also gave a breath test of 41 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

Magistrates sentenced the 42-year-old to 120 days in prison and banned him from driving for 42 months. He must also pay a £115 victim surcharge.
