Loving homes needed for abandoned dogs

00:00, 14 August 2008

Can you give a dog a home? That is the plea from staff at a kennels which is overrun with abandoned pooches.

Frandham Kennels, in Minnis Lane, River, is holding an open day for prospective owners on Sunday, August 24, from 11am to 5pm in the hope that some of the dogs may find loving homes.

Among those looking for new owners are:

Wotsit

This basset hound cross is about three years old. He has a lovely temperament and would make a good family pet but needs training to walk on the lead.

He would suit an owner who has plenty of time to spend with him.

Grace

A black greyhound who loves to sleep! She is about four years old and came to the kennels as a boarder but the owner did not want her back.

Grace only needs two walks a day of about 20 minutes and then is happy to put her feet up! She does not get on with cats.

Border collie

She is about three and needs a new home after her owner was taken into hospital.

She has a lovely temperament and needs a lot of exercise and attention – and grooming.
