15:13, 23 May 2012
Striker Luis Cumbers has become the first Welling player to commit his future to the club.
Cumbers has signed a new one-year deal and becomes manager Jamie Say's second signing in as many days.
Promising keeper Sam Mott joined on Tuesday evening from Ryman League Thamesmead, having impressed in two FA Trophy games against the Wings last season.
Day is expected to make a further signing from last season's squad shortly, but the future of skipper Jack Parkinson remains unclear.
Woking have joined AFC Wimbledon in the chase for the highly-rated centre-back, although if he does leave the Wings will be entitled to a transfer fee.
Welling agreed a substantial fee with League 1 Stevenage last summer but the player rejected the move.
