THE Dogs Trust is issuing fresh warnings to people in Kent about the dangers of keeping dogs in hot cars.
Trust members are encouraging people not to leave their dogs in cars even on days when the sun isn’t out.
Tips for keeping your canine companion cool and happy when the temperature rockets are:
* Keep a water bottle and a drinking bowl with you at all times. Dogs dehydrate very easily.
* Keep your dog in the shade or indoors at the height of the day.
* In a real emergency, submerge your dog’s body in cold water to bring down his core body temperature.
* Don’t leave dogs in hot cars, even when it is overcast and even with a window down.
