A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after two people were stabbed at a popular holiday park.

Police and paramedics were called to Alberta Holiday Park in Seasalter, Whitstable , at about 11.20pm on Saturday, to reports of a disturbance.

Two men, one aged in his 20s and the other in his 30s, suffered stab wounds and were taken to a London hospital where they were treated for their injuries .

They have since been discharged.

On Wednesday, a man in his 30s from the Thanet area was arrested on suspicion of assault.

He has since been released on bail until October 18.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident, which is believed to have taken place at the holiday park’s clubhouse.

The clubhouse is described on its website as a “family friendly” spot “serving food and beverages throughout the day with regular cabaret acts, and live sporting events on Sky and BT Sports”.

It was closed following the incident but reopened on Monday morning.

A spokesman Park Holidays UK, which owns Alberta Holiday Park, told KentOnline earlier this week: “We are giving every assistance possible to the police in their investigation of this incident.

“We are grateful for the prompt attendance of police officers at the scene, and to members of our staff at the park who acted quickly and responsibly to ensure the safety of other guests. The use of our clubhouse at Alberta Holiday Park is restricted to holiday home owners and their family and friends and to holiday guests staying on the park. The clubhouse is not open to the general public.”

Situated near the seafront in Seasalter, the site is a popular spot for families, and houses more than 300 static holiday caravans.
