Man in hospital after rush-hour collision

A MOTORIST is in hospital with head injuries after a rush-hour collision involving a bus.
The man had to be cut free from his Ford Escort after it crashed with the number 358 in Upper Elmers End Road.
His male passenger was also taken to hospital with neck and abdominal pains following the incident at about 5.10pm on Thursday.
Neither man’s injuries are said to be life-threatening.
The single-decker Metrobus was in collision with the Escort and a white Ford van near the junction with Altyre (corr)Way.
Police, firefighters and paramedics were called and the bus driver was also taken to hospital with minor injuries. No bus passengers needed hospital treatment.
The road was closed until about 8.50pm.
