Man quizzed over farm fires

A MAN has been arrested and questioned about the fires on farms across the Hoo Peninsula.
Another blaze was started at a farm in Binney Road, Allhallows, early on Sunday morning.
A person was seen cycling away from the scene as a stable block, two barns and two haystacks were destroyed in the blaze.
Firefighters from Strood and Grain attended the fire, which started around midnight.
The fire occurred close to the spot where a miniature pony was killed in another fire y 10 days ago. Peanut, a 32in-high horse, died when flames engulfed a farm building next to his stable.
This latest fire raises the number of fires in Cliffe, Allhallows and Hoo to a total of 14 in six weeks. Det Sgt Neil Evans said: "We have arrested a 32-year-old man from Rochester. He is now on bail without being charged pending further enquiries."
