A MAN is recovering in hospital after being shot twice in a daylight street attack.
The 27-year-old was walking along Fraser Road, Erith, at about 4.30pm on Saturday when a car stopped beside him.
He was shot in the hand when one of the occupants got out of the vehicle after a row broke out.
The fleeing victim managed to escape a few yards down the road - but was shot again in the leg. The car then drove off in the direction of Erith Road.
Police said the victim remained in a stable condition in hospital.
The suspects are described as four or five black men aged between 18 and 25 and the car as a dark Ford Focus.
Although the victim is white, the incident is being investigated by officers from Operation Trident, set up to deal with black-on-black crime.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Trident incident room on 020 8217 7355 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
