Manager Andy Hessenthaler says FA Cup run would boost Gillingham's chances of promotion to League 1

Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler is hoping further FA Cup success will help fund his plans for League 2 promotion.
The Gills have already pocketed £18,000 for their first round replay victory over Bournemouth, and Leyton Orient stand in their way on Saturday of a place in the third round.
After beating one League 1 outfit, Hessenthaler, pictured, is confident his side can win a place among the top teams in the next round of the competition.
Hessenthaler said: "The emphasis is on them (Orient) because they are at home. We need to work hard, though, and if we do that from start to finish, we could be in the third round of the FA Cup and who knows what the draw could bring."
Prize money stands at £27,000 – small change if Gills drew a Premier League big gun in round three.
Hessenthaler said: "Sometimes when you have a cup run it can help the league because there might be funds available to then kick on in the second half of the season.
"The third round is on January 7 and, who knows, we could be playing Manchester United away.
"That would be fantastic for us financially and we would be going into a key part of the season hopefully able to bring a couple of new faces in with the money we have generated."
