ORGANISERS are hoping for a massive turnout tomorrow for a mass march around Rochester in opposition to the proposed airport at Cliffe.
It has been organised by the No Airport at Cliffe Action Group. It is not expected to attract the same police pressures which marred a march around Chatham a month ago. Protestors are meeting at 10am in the Castle Gardens, Rochester.
They will then march the length of the High Street to Corporation Road, where they will turn left to march past Rochester Open Air Market. After crossing Rochester Bridge, the walkers will walk into the Civic Centre car park for a rally.
Speakers will include MPs Bob Marshall-Andrews (Medway) and Chris Pond (Gravesham), and Rodney Chambers, Medway Council leader.
