11:25, 02 January 2003
THE Kent Messenger Group received more than 1,000 entries for its Let it Snow competition. Those who predicted the weather and knew that it was 1968 when snow last fell in Kent on the big day went into the prize draw.
They had a chance to win five nights at the Chateau de Bellingise near Compiegne, courtesy of SeaFrance, crossing the channel on The Rodin, the pride of the SeaFrance fleet.
The lucky winner was Margaret Deane, of Winterstoke Crescent, Ramsgate. The five runners-up, who each receive a day-trip to France for a car and up to four people are: Paul Downham, of Bryant Street, Chatham; Angela Gibbens from Canterbury, who entered via email; A Turnbull of Sandgate Road, Folkestone; Joanne Badder of Salisbury Road, Canterbury; and Mrs M Titchener of Thanet.
* LITTLE Abby Shaw, two, is to have her bedroom redecorated and redesigned after her mother, Jan Shaw, won the child’s bedroom makeover competition in the Kent Messenger Group’s 2002 Parenting Magazine.
Abby, of Papion Grove, Walderslade Woods, Chatham, will have her room redesigned by Wood Lane Interiors of Headcorn.
