Around £1,000 was raised at a late summer fete held at the Thanet Day Opportunity Service day centre for adults with learning and physical disabilities at Tivoli Road, Margate.
The fun event was officially opened by kmfm for Thanet breakfast show presenter Johnny Lewis, and included a disco, barbecue, stalls, bric-a-brac and tombola.
He said: “It was a fantastic fete and the organisers put on a really good show.
"There’s only one word to describe the effort to raise £1000 for a really worthwhile cause - marvellous.”
