The newest Marvel TV series is being released today and it appears its star attraction has an unknown link to Kent.
Marvel’s Loki series will premiere on Disney Plus today, with English actor Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as Loki from the film series.
But, unbeknown to most, it turns out the manipulative Norse god of mischief is linked to our county.
Posting on Instagram this morning, ahead of the premiere, Rochester Cathedral said: "The newest Marvel TV series ‘Loki’ is released on Disney+ today.
"Did you know Norse mythology makes an appearance in Textus Roffensis, compiled at Rochester Cathedral around 1123.
"Lists of Anglo-Saxon Kings trace their lineage back to Woden. Woden is also known as Odin and is famously the (adopted) father of Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
The Loki series will consist of six episodes in total, each one clocking in between 40 and 50 minutes.
Set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it takes place after the events of the film Avengers: Endgame, which was released in 2019.
