A 15-year-old boy was one of two people who were arrested after allegedly smashing the windscreen of a Morrisons delivery van using a baseball bat.
The delivery driver was injured when the men reportedly stopped their vehicle in front of the van in Ratcliffe Highway, Hoo, near Rochester, before smashing the windscreen and driving away.
The delivery driver sustained minor injuries.
A police spokesman said: "Kent Police was called to the Ratcliffe Highway in Rochester at about 12.48pm on Monday, March 8 following reports a van had been damaged and the driver assaulted.
"Two people, a 20-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy, both from Rochester were arrested nearby and currently remain in custody having been arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and assault."
Update: Both were released, pending further inquiries.
