Mercedes dealerships on the hunt for apprentices

Ashford's Mercedes-Benz commercial dealership has places for technical apprenticeships.
Sparshatts of Kent can offer the apprenticeships at its site on the Brookfield Industrial Estate, Leacon Road, Ashford, as well as its other bases in Sittingbourne and Dartford.
Sparshatts is the biggest Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealership in the South East.
Apprenticeships to work on the German company’s vehicles were given a boost when Prime Minister David Cameron visited the £2.1 million, purpose-built Mercedes-Benz Apprentice Academy at the company’s headquarters in Milton Keynes during the recent National Apprentice Week.
The academy provides industry-leading training for young people to become Mercedes-Benz-qualified technicians and parts advisers.
Mr Cameron said: “ Apprenticeships are at the heart of our mission to rebuild the economy, giving young people the chance to learn a trade and create a truly world-class workforce that can compete and thrive in the global race.”

In 2012, 159 apprentices joined the three-year Mercedes-Benz apprentice programme, selected from 11,500 applications.
