A yellow weather warning for very strong winds has been issued for Kent on Friday.
It was introduced by The Met Office as it warns that Storm Eunice could cause significant disruption and danger to life.
The storm may cause dangerous hazards including flying debris, falling trees and power lines being brought down.
Roads, bridges and railway lines could close, causing longer delays and disruption for bus, train and ferry services.
It adds some flights might also be cancelled for those travelling to airports.
The warning will be introduced at midnight on Friday 18 and will remain in place until 9pm.
Extremely strong winds of up to 60-70 mph will develop in the southwest early Friday morning, before spreading north and east. Gusts may even reach 80 mph inland.
The warning covers all of the south and south east, as far as parts of Scotland and Northern Ireland.
