00:00, 10 December 2007
JOE Coles and John Terrys of the future can learn to tackle like their favourite football stars at a new soccer centre in Kent.
Players of all ages and ability can hone their skills at the Kicks Soccer Centre at Strood Leisure Centre in Watling Street.
The centre offers a wide range of activities including five-a-side leagues, a women’s league and coaching, and Pro Futures Soccer Schools that are being run in conjunction with Chelsea Football Club Academy.
Kicks five-a-side leagues are fully sanctioned by the FA and officiated by qualified referees.
Players can battle it out for promotion on one of the centre’s six state-of-the-art, floodlit five-a-side Astroturf pitches or one seven-a-side pitch.
The Kent County Football Association and Medway Council Sports Development Team have joined forces with Kicks to introduce a new women’s five-a-side league, and taster / coaching sessions. Call Liz Symons on 07903 127256 or email liz.Symons@lentfa.com for more information.
Younger footballers can also develop their mental and physical skills at Socatots, the world’s first football programme for pre-school children.
All Socatots equipment is specially designed for children to develop skills of agility, balance and co-ordination.
