A BURST water main left hundreds of homes and businesses without water and created massive rush-hour traffic jams.

The main in London Road, Ditton, part of the A20, flooded one side of the busy road at the junction with Winterfield Lane at about 6.00pm yesterday. Part of the road collapsed.

Motorists were left waiting while youngsters revelled in the water on one of the hottest days.

Mid Kent Water technicians were still carrying out repairs today.
