It's our last home game of the season coming up on Saturday in what has been a very impressive one on our pitch.
The tally of points at home has been brilliant and if we can pick up the needed points in the next couple of games it gives us a great platform to build on for next season.
For the last time at Priestfield this season be as loud as you ever have and we’ll do everything we can to finish our home season with the right result.
It’s going to be a tough game, against a side who have been flying lately, but we relish these challenges and we will be going for it with you guys behind us. On home soil we believe we can cause them some serious problems.
Last weekend we travelled to Norwich and we knew it was always going to be tough.
I felt before their goal there would only be one winner. We had a couple of really good chances to take the lead, but through a combination of good luck and good goalkeeping Norwich managed to keep us out.
It was also a signal of how our away luck has been as Norwich’s goal looped and bounced off the bar and over the line (just). If that bounces the other side I feel we would have taken a share of the spoils at least. It wasn’t to be, though, and Norwich added to their lead from a corner.
They are deserving champions because they play the game the right way and have a huge squad filled with quality. They are the standard at the top end of our league which shows how strong this division is this year.
There was a bumper crowd there but I thought our section were great and out-sung the home fans for long periods.
We’ve got a great game to look forward to now and having teams like Southampton coming to Priestfield is the reason we all worked so hard last year to get promotion.
