Playing in games like the Leeds one last weekend and the one coming up is the best part of being a footballer.
Big games with a great atmosphere – in which you guys were tremendous – are what football is all about.
We have three games to go now, starting with Norwich who have just been promoted.
We’re going there looking to cause an upset. They are a good side but as we proved on Saturday, when we are on our game we can beat anyone.
I’m sure we’ll bring another army to Norwich and you never know that first away win could be in the champions’ back yard.
We got a great result last Saturday. It was a game which everyone was looking forward to and in the end it was a vital three points.
We knew Leeds would be tough to beat but we also knew that we had more than enough in our locker to cause them problems and we pretty much blew them away in the first half hour.
Firstly Adam Miller showed unbelievable neck muscles to guide a header into the far corner and then Mark Bentley rose highest to power in a great header to double our lead.
Leeds were rattled as we kept attacking them with Dennis Oli and Rene Howe causing havoc in their back-four. A third goal came after another ball into the box forced an error from the centre-back who headed against his team-mate and the ball bounced past the keeper to give us a great lead.
Getting to half-time with a clean sheet was important as we didn’t want to give them anything to chase in the second half.
They managed to get that breakthrough, though, as Luciano Becchio swivelled and struck the ball just inside the post.
They came out all guns blazing in the second half, going towards their fans, but Alan Julian didn’t have a lot to do.
We held our shape and could have added to our lead on the break. But just as we thought we had weathered the storm, Jermaine Beckford sneaked in and won a penalty which he stuck away to make the last five minutes interesting.
We held out, however, and deservedly took the points to take us another step closer to our aim.
