The trip to Leeds unfortunately didn’t lead to any points for us although for spells we played quite well.

It was a long old journey up there on Friday and we broke it up by training at Derby. The facilities there are great and it’s good to stretch the legs after a couple of hours on the coach.

We stayed over, which gave me and a few of the boys a chance to see if Derren Brown could trick us into being stuck to our chairs! He didn’t manage it, we’re too mentally strong for that!

It was a funny sight, though, in mine and Millsy’s room as we had four chairs laid out with me, Baz (Fuller), Mills and Garry (Richards) all staring at the screen.

The game itself on Saturday was disappointing in terms of the result but we can take some positives, like Barchy scoring another great goal, the way we played after they hit their third and the fact that we created some good chances, against a team who will be disappointed if they do not achieve automatic promotion.

They started the game well and an old friend, and also old enemy for me and the other Stevenage boys – Bradley Johnson - scored the first two goals for them.

Bradley Johnson came to Stevenage for a period in which I think we won every game. He was a good lad and you could see he was going to have a big future. He scored an incredible goal in the game at Leeds which led to relegation in 2008 and he haunted us again on Saturday.

The gaffer has tried to sign him a couple of times and everyone could see why. It was a more subdued trip home than we would have liked but we all realise it’s only one game.

I was able to get 90 minutes under my belt this week as we had a reserve game against QPR. It was good to play a competitive game and it gave the boys the chance to keep their fitness levels and touch intact.

There were a few of the senior boys playing and some young pros. We were frustrated that we didn’t manage to win the game, especially after dominating the first half, but it was good to get a run out so we are ready when our chance comes in the first team.

Next up is Norwich at home which is another good game for us. They should bring a great following and I’m sure the atmosphere will be as good as it has been recently at Priestfield. We have collected nine points at home so far this season and we hope to add more to that this weekend.

Norwich haven’t started as well as they would have liked and it’s always hard adjusting to a change in manager and, after being relegated, to get the winning habit back. I’m sure they will find it soon but hopefully not before Saturday.

I can see them being in the mix at the end of the season. They have some good players, one of which we have met a few times before in Grant Holt. We didn’t give him a kick at Wembley and that helped us achieve a great result so hopefully we can do that again.
