Party in the Dark a big hit
00:00, 02 November 2001
MORE than 12,000 pop fans turned up to see Hear'Say and Liberty perform at Invicta FM's Party In The Dark at the Hop Farm Country Park at Beltring, near East Peckham. A surprise late addition to the playlist were BRIT Award winners, A1, who performed their rendition of the 80s hit Take On Me.
Another hunky boy band, Folkestone-based D.V.S, hit it off with the crowds with their youthful good looks and perfectly synchronised moves. As well as surprise additions there were also surprise disappointments - UK garage MOBO winners the So Solid Crew didn't show and neither did R'n'B duo Denada.
Right Said Fred, brothers Richard and Fred Fairbrass, were also feeling raunchy - stripping off to their hit tune I'm Too Sexy.
Their current hit, You're My Mate went down a storm.
Invicta FM Morning Zoo presenter, Russ Howe joined the acts backstage. He said: "It went very well, it was brilliant."
