Olympic teenage medal prospect Valeria Pereyra will be returning to Pegasus Gymnastics Club in the summer after booking her place at London 2012.
The 15-year-old Argentinian (pictured), who is the junior South American champion, qualified for the London Games at this week’s test event in North Greenwich after training at the Maidstone club last week.
Pegasus head coach Ionut Trandaburu said: "We are delighted that Valeria has qualifed for the Olympics and we look forward to seeing her back at the club as she prepares for the Games.
"We are also hoping that she will compete in the Pegasus Open competition in June along with a Slovenian gymnast who has also qualified for the Olympics."
Pereyra has made a rapid ascent toward the top of the gymnastics rankings and will turn 16 this year. Along with her junior continental title, where she led Argentina to team glory, she won the all-around titles at Germany’s Pre-Olympic Youth Cup in May and the Puerto Rico Cup in July.
In August, she finished third in the all-around event and first in the bars, at the senior South American Championships.
Pegasus has been chosen by athletes for their pre-Olympic training as the club uses the same Gymnova equipment that will be used at the Games.
