Charlie Lee puts in a tackle during his loan stint for the Gills last season
Gillingham have completed the signing of Peterborough midfielder Charlie Lee on a three-year-deal.
The 24-year-old re-joins the Gills on a permanent basis after helping turn their season around in League 2 last November.
Lee, a former Tottenham youth player, only played four times for Andy Hessenthaler’s side last season but made a big impact.
He becomes the seventh new signing to be confirmed by the Gills in the last four days. Six others was announced on Friday.
Lee’s last appearance for Peterborough came in the League 1 play-off final victory over Huddersfield, as a second half substitute, and he exits the London Road club after making 177 appearances for the club. He had been there since 2007 when he left Tottenham.
He arrives at Priestfield predominantly for his central midfield abilities, but he can also fill in on either flank and also at the back, making him a useful addition to the squad.
