Picture special on the wintry Easter weather

12:13, 20 March 2008

Parts of Kent experienced snow on Easter Sunday for the first time since 1983. There was a light layer of snow in some areas, mainly on higher ground. Elsewhere it fell as a mixture of snow and sleet, combined with strong northerly winds that once again this month battered Kent's coastline.

Wintery showers continued sporadically on Bank Holiday Monday

Drivers are still being warned to take care in icy conditions as temperatures are unlikely to rise above 3C for the next few days.

Easter hasn't been this early in the year since 1913 and it won't happen again until the year 2228.
