Please help me find my father

A WOMAN who has spent years searching for her father is appealing for help in tracing him. So far Barbara Yeoman's efforts have resulted in dead ends. Mrs Yeoman, 41, of Melbourne Road, Chatham, hasn't seen her father since she was 10.

The mother-of-four explained: "I don't want anything from him. I would just like to meet him and be able to get on with my life by rebuilding a relationship with him."

Mrs Yeoman was born to parents Charles Robert Everitt and Margaret Ann Everitt on April 27, 1960, at home in Chatham's Churchill Avenue. For two happy years the family stayed together while her father worked in the Army. But the marriage fell apart and they later divorced.

Mrs Yeoman recalled: "I can only remember bits and pieces about it, but I do remember moving to Waterdales in Northfleet when I was nine. My dad would visit me there, but the last vision I have of him was when I was 10 and we were at Gravesend County Court.

My parents were fighting for custody of me. My mum won and I didn't see my dad after that. He must have cared about me, though, to fight for custody."

Mr Yeoman went through the motions of adjusting to life without her father, but she never gave up hope of one day being reunited with him.

Anyone in contact with Charles Everitt or know of his whereabouts, is asked to contact Kent Messenger Group reporter Janine Nolan on 01634 821326.
