Police name A20 crash victim

A MOTORIST who died when his car was hit head-on by a vehicle which was being chased by police has been named as 42-year-old Graham Bignell, 42, a transport manager, of High Halden, near Ashford.
Mr Bignell was driving along the A20 at Swanley last Friday when his Vauxhall Vectra was struck by a Vauxhall Carlton travelling the wrong way
Three men also died in the Vauxhall Carlton but have not yet been named.
Police said they were from the south-east London area and were in their late teens and early 20s. Their next of kin have been informed.
A Kent police spokesman said: "Owing to the nature of the crash their formal identification may take some time." he three men's bodies were badly burnt.
The three men were being chased by Surrey police after a alleged break-in at the Boots store in Oxted when they collided with the Vectra and their car burst into flames.
An investigation is under way today by Kent Police with the supervision of the Police Complaints Authority.
Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash.Anyone with information should telephone 01622 654321.
