Supermarket worker Pauline Synott was furious after she was caught speeding in her partner's car when police said they were convinced the driver was a man.
Pauline, 59, from Gillingham, was driving her partner's car at 52mph in a 40mph limit when she was photographed by a speed camera.
But the couple were angry when Kent Police wrote to the registered owner, Pauline's partner Roy Watkins, stating that the person driving the car when the photo was taken was a man.
Roy, 65,was asked to confirm who was driving when the car was clocked at 52mph at Gads Hill, Gillingham.
A letter to him read: “From the copy of the photograph it appears that the driver was a male.”
Roy said: “I am fuming and Pauline is very upset. Any woman would be if they were told they look like a man.
A spokesman for Kent Police said:"We have has been in touch with the couple and are working with them to try and resolve this matter.”
