Pepa the pig - could her escape plan have been any rasher?
by Martin Jefferies
Some little piggies go to market, others stay at home - but this one went straight to the nick at Margate police station!
Pepa the Pig was found trotting around the streets of Cliftonville when vandals broke into her home - a garden shed in Ethelbert Road.
Officers saved her bacon by bundling her into a police van after attempts to coax her to safety using a lead were met with oinks of resistance.
Insp Simon Collins said: "Pepa was a bit of a handful, but she wasn’t aggressive.
"The scary thing is that she must have run across Northdown Road at some point on Friday evening!"
Pepa, a six-month-old Berkshire, was reunited with her owners the following day.
