Police seek thief who stole car called Mexico
12:42, 14 May 2008
A rare car lovingly restored by its owner has been stolen from a garage in Chatham.
The Mark 1 Ford Escort Mexico is thought to have been stolen from the lock-up garage at some point between Friday, April 18, and Tuesday, May 6.
The vintage motor has a four inch black stripe down both sides and is one of only around 500 ever made.
A spokesman for Medway Police said: “It was being worked on and did not have an engine in place and so it is likely a low loader would have had to be used in order to remove it.”
n If you have information which could help, please contact officers at Medway station on 01634 792531 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
