PC James Murrell appears before Kent Police misconduct hearing

A policeman who failed to accurately record events after stopping and searching a suspect has appeared in front of a tribunal.
Kent Police called PC James Murrell in after it was alleged he had broken three professional standards.
But the tribunal found only one was breached.
It was alleged that PC Murrell had stopped and searched a man without reason to suspect he had drugs on him.
He was also accused of using excessive force by pinning the suspect to the floor and drawing his taser.
The only allegation PC Murrell was found to be in breach of was that he had failed to honestly or accurately record the events and his reason for stopping and searching someone.
The officer was referred for "management advice".
