A football fan arrested after running onto the pitch and taking a free-kick during a Premier League match has been charged by police.
Jordan Dunn, of The Gateway, Dover, spent a night in custody at an east London police station following the stunt during West Ham's opening day clash with Tottenham at Upton Park yesterday afternoon.
The 22-year-old West Ham fan - who works at the Premier Inn in Dover - was filmed drilling the ball towards goal as Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen lined up a strike.
His left-footed effort was saved by Hammers keeper Adrian before he was chased down by stewards.
He was charged on Sunday afternoon under Section 4 of the Football Offences Act 1991 and is due to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on September 1.
Fans on Twitter later joked he had more shots on target than West Ham forwards Carlton Cole and Kevin Nolan.
Eriksen eventually took the free-kick and put his effort high and over the bar, but his side still snatched a 1-0 win with an injury time goal from defender Eric Dier.
