Ramsgate school in mourning after death of Chris Allum, 17

A Ramsgate school is mourning the death of one of its teenage students at the weekend.
St Lawrence College lad Chris Allum was struck by a black Vauxhall Corsa in Holly Road, Ramsgate, at around 2.15pm on Saturday (Setepmber 19).
The 17-year-old was taken by ambulance to the QEQM Hospital in Margate, three miles away, where he died from his injuries.
Chris’s friends and teachers at St Lawrence College were given the tragic news on Monday morning.
A short statement issued by the school read: “The whole college is in complete shock. In a small community such as ours, it is like losing a member of the family.
“The thoughts and prayers of the entire college are with Chris’s family.”
A spokesperson for Kent Police confirmed officers are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 01622 798538.
